Dominic and I recently traveled to Antigua for our belated honeymoon. What a wonderful trip this was! We certainly enjoyed every minute of our time away in paradise. With a high of 80 and a low of 70 everyday, sunshine far and wide, ocean as far as the eye can see, and sunsets to die for…
We stayed at the Yepton Cottages in Saint John. Their little resort was just the place for us. When first thinking of going to the Caribbean we wanted to make sure we went somewhere that we could explore, and had no desire for an all inclusive resort. The cottages at Yepton were adorable, quaint, and the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had our own kitchen, grill, hammock, our own private lagoon, and a couple minute walk to the beach – what else could we have possibly needed? Not a thing…it was so so perfect.
All of the beaches in Antigua are public, making it that much more amazing. We could drive from beach to beach (walk to some too) and find just the one for us, sometimes a beach all to ourselves even. We found a few favorites, and enjoyed basking in the sun for 6 beautiful days on them.
Driving around Antigua was quite the adventure in itself. Not only were we driving on the other side of the road, but there were other obstacles such as the wildlife to watch out for. I smiled every time we drove past a herd of goats, cows, or even wild horses.
On our trip I may have convinced Dominic to learn to sail with me…just maybe….
Only three months in and 2013 has been a rocky one. After some unexpected losses in our family, this trip really brightened our spirits. The beauty we saw made us remember that no matter how hard things tend to get, there’s always something brighter and more beautiful right around the corner. I could not have asked for a more perfect honeymoon or a more perfect husband! Antigua was everything we had been dreaming about and more. I’m one lucky lady to get to spend my life with Dominic, and for that my heart smiles.
We loved all the pictures. so glad you both had a great honeymoon. You will remember it your whole married life.
we are so happy you have found each other.
love,
